Steve Jobs Marketing Secrets

Steve Jobs Used Marketing Secrets that Most Marketers Will Never Know!

All around the world, people camp out line up in droves -waiting with hopes to buy Apple Inc’s new iPhones and iPads before they are sold out!   Even the buyers in Hong Kong –  did not mind the $1,300 to $1,500 price tag per to get one of Apple’s latest gadgets!

This story and the scenario is repeated over and over again, each time Apple releases a new version of their iPhone and iPad — while similar, and like-products sell for a fraction of the price — (and sit gathering dust on shelves)!

Obviously, Steve Job’s knew, and Apple Inc., know the “Marketing Secrets — that influence, persuade and motivate consumers to take action, and to buy at six-times the average price for similar selling products!

What was Steve Jobs Secret?

We could say, that Steve Jobs knew how to sell Benefits rather than Features!  But, that’s a little lame!  That’s something we ALL know!  And, if this was Steve Jobs Secret — we would all produce the same results that Steve Jobs produced!

So, we know — that it takes more than we’re able to learn in the Marketing textbooks! Or, we would all be producing the same phenomenal results that Steve Jobs and Apple has produced!

Was Steve Jobs born with traits that made him Special and Unique?

According to Karen Blumenthal, Author: “Steve Jobs: The Man Who Thought Different

1. From the start, his path was never predictable.
2. Steve Jobs was given up for adoption at birth
3. Dropped out of college after one semester
4. And at the age of twenty, created Apple in his parents’ garage with his friend Steve Wozniack!

“Then came the core and hallmark of his genius–his exacting moderation for perfection, his counterculture life approach, and his level of taste and style that pushed all boundaries and made the world want every product he touched!”

At a time when the U.S. Small Business Administration tells us that seven out of ten new businesses fail during their first five years — don’t you think it’s time to wake up and realize that –  what many of us have been doing — doesn’t work?

It’s time to find the edge that can not only make our businesses survive but actually thrive!

Can you imagine people camping out and lining up in droves — in front of your business — waiting in hopes that you’ll allow them to buy something from you?  (Don’t we ALL wish we had that problem?)

According to Walter Isaacson, CEO of the Aspen Institute and Author of Steve Jobs.

“At a time when America is seeking ways to sustain its innovative edge, and when societies around the world are trying to build digital-age economies, Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness and applied imagination. He knew that the best way to create value in the twenty-first century was to connect creativity with technology. He built a company where leaps of the imagination were combined with remarkable feats of engineering.”

I totally agree with Walter Isaacson!  However, that’s still only touching the surface!

Steve Jobs, knew something more!

Here are just a few of Steve Jobs Marketing Secrets, that I have observed:

1.  Steve Jobs knew that consumers do not buy electrical gadgets (products) — they buy ideas and concepts!

2.  Steve Jobs used the power of Marketing Psychology to influence and motivate consumers to take the necessary actions to make a purchase — AND the Psychological Triggers to pull — that would have them lining up to buy his products!

3.  Steve Jobs knew the importance of using Consumer Psychology — and “our basic psychological needs” to influence us to become loyal followers of “his brand.”

4.  Another one of Steve Jobs Secrets was he knew the  human-psychology need to “belong” and “connect.”  To be a part of something greater than ourselves.

Steve Jobs knew how to use these psychological tools — to create Marketing Revolutions — and develop a Culture and a Community — of loyal followers!  People that would become so motivated and influenced and dedicated to his cause, AND  — “of showing others (the Apple logo) that we were cool — because we were a part of and belonged to this “UNIQUE AND SPECIAL CLAN!”

“Your time is limited. . . . have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” ~Steve Jobs

In the future — I’ll write more in depth about the Steve Jobs Marketing Secrets, and post them here at dallasbowman.com, with the hopes that they can inspire you and help you to turn your own business & marketing dreams into reality!
